As a founding team member at Loot, I played a pivotal role in shaping the company's trajectory from its inception. I contributed to raising £8.2M in funding from leading venture capital firms, including SpeedInvest, GFC, GoBeyond, and Portag3.
I established and led all product design processes and functions, building the design foundation from scratch. This included creating a successful hiring framework for product and marketing designers, encompassing detailed job descriptions, interview structures, take-home challenges, and whiteboard exercises.
Over four years, I remained hands-on and supported the design needs of the company, delivering marketing materials, brand assets, and designs for platforms such as Android, iOS, a website, a blog, and a web app. To ensure consistency across all touchpoints, I implemented a comprehensive design style guide that became the backbone of Loot's visual identity.
Working closely with cross-functional teams, I conducted research, designed, and implemented features aimed at driving key growth metrics, focusing on the PIRATE AAARR framework to enhance acquisition, activation, retention, revenue, and referral. These efforts contributed to growing the user base from zero to 250,000 users and scaling the team from five to 80 employees across three offices in Europe.
Following Loot’s success, the company sold a majority share to NatWest, integrating key team members into their Bó and Mettle product initiatives. Additionally, Loot’s well-structured codebase was sold globally to other companies, including NatWest and Payble.
